On the occasion of commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, more than a thousand overseas Chinese from all over the world gathered in Beijing and were invited to attend the grand military parade of the 93rd National Congress held on September 3. Former California Representative Zhu Gansheng is one of them.

He introduced that he flew to Beijing from the United States on September 1. On September 2, the overseas Chinese delegation first visited the theme exhibition "For National Liberation and World Peace" held at the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression Memorial Hall, and comprehensively reviewed that painful and heroic history. The next morning, he arrived at the Tiananmen Observatory with the regiment and witnessed the grand military parade with his own eyes. Despite the hot weather and a compact itinerary, as rows of new equipment drove through Tiananmen Square in an orderly manner, warm applause and sincere amaze sounded from the viewing platform.
Zhu Gansheng sighed: "Recalling the early days of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the gap between the Chinese and the Japanese army in weapons and equipment was so huge. Today, China has developed into a strong country. I am full of pride in being able to defend itself and face the world with my head held high."
On the evening of September 3, Zhu Gansheng was also invited to the Great Hall of the People to watch the large-scale literary evening "Victory and Peace". The whole performance has a distinct theme and grand momentum. It truly reproduces the magnificent historical process of China's War of Resistance Against Japan in an artistic form, allowing the audience to feel the nation's perseverance again in a solemn atmosphere.
Zhu Gansheng told reporters that during the event, he communicated with overseas Chinese from Europe, Southeast Asia and other places. Everyone had a common feeling: as an overseas Chinese who lives overseas, he deeply realized that the strength of the motherland not only made the overseas Chinese community more confident overseas, but also made the world more clearly see China's firm stance in maintaining peace.
In Zhu Gansheng's view, the current international situation is still turbulent, and Japan's attitude on the historical issue of aggression is still vague, and some even deny historical facts such as the Nanjing Massacre. Against this background, China holds a commemorative event for the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan and is of great significance - it not only reminds the Chinese people to remember history, but also makes the world realize the great sacrifices and contributions made by China to the victory of World War II.
""The world must be clear that China has never been an invader. China's increasing strength is to better protect territorial integrity and people's living and working in peace, rather than posing a threat to other countries." Zhu Gansheng emphasized that the cruelty of war should never be forgotten, and the value of peace should be cherished by the world.
