Today's online social platform, "93 Military Parade" is undoubtedly the hottest word. Like many Chinese people, the author also watched the live broadcast carefully and felt deeply. In addition to feeling, a Jiaodong village named "Zhang Pi" suddenly flashed into my mind.
In the Jiaodong Peninsula, there are two "Zhangpi" villages, one in Jugezhuang Town, Mouping District, Yantai City, and the other in Wendengying Town, Wendeng District, Weihai City. Although the two have the same name, their meanings are different. According to the place name information, Zhangpi Village in Mouping was named after its occupation (the ancient ancestors made skins here); Zhangpi Village in Wendeng evolved from "Zhangbi". The "Zhangpi Village" that the author remembers this time is specifically under Wendeng.
The reason why I remembered Zhangpi Village from the military parade is mainly related to a celebrity in the village - the late Major General Zhang Yuhua was born here.

According to historical records, Zhang Yuhua was born in 1916 and joined the revolution very early. He participated in the Tianfushan Uprising in 1937 (Note: Tianfushan is located in the boundary of Wendeng, not far from Zhangpi Village). He has served in the army for a long time. After the founding of New China, he served as deputy commander and political commissar of the Shenyang Military Region artillery, deputy political commissar of the Wuhan Military Region, secretary of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee, deputy political commissar of the Nanjing Military Region, and other positions. He was awarded the rank of major general in 1964.
In 2015, at the military parade commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Zhang Yuhua appeared in the veterans' team at the age of 99 (the age of 100 is over) and raised his hand to salute, leaving a deep impression on the audience. Before 2015, the young author had not yet begun to focus on Jiaodong literature and history, so he did not know much about General Zhang Yuhua's deeds. And since the military parade that year, I only learned that he was from Zhangpi Village, Wendeng.
The world is unpredictable. Two years later, in 2017, General Zhang Yuhua died of illness in Nanjing at the age of 101. At that time, the author had started the "Jiaodong Story Meeting" column and often visited the countryside. After hearing the news, he went to Wendeng Zhangpi Village with his friends and felt the customs and customs of the general's hometown.
Because there are 8 years apart in the middle and the pictures were not archived at that time, I only have a vague impression of the appearance of Zhangpi Village. I remember a relatively clear detail that near the entrance of the village, the author chatted with an old man (at least 70 years old at the time) for a while. The other party mentioned the details of General Zhang Yuhua returning to his hometown to visit relatives in the 1980s and 1990s. The language was full of respect.
From 2015 to the present, ten years have passed in a flash. Today we will watch the military parade again, and the equipment is refreshing, and it is a pity that the heroes of the War of Resistance passed away one after another, and there are no veterans in the review team. Although birth, old age, sickness and death are natural laws, they can’t help but sigh.
In the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War of Liberation, the military and civilians of Jiaodong made great contributions, and there are countless heroes. During today's military parade live broadcast, the flag of the "First Company of Jimo City" was eye-catching in the close-up of the battle flag team. The author originally wanted to sigh at this detail, but when I opened my circle of friends, I found that the picture had already been flooded, and many official media have followed up on the reports, so I won’t go into details here.
