On July 7, 1937, the Japanese invading army brazenly launched the July 7 Incident, and the national war of resistance broke out. The Chinese Red Cross Society and other institutions integrated rescue resources and established the Chinese Red Cross Society Ambulance Committee on December 6 of that year, which was later reorganized into the Ambulance Corps. Due to the spread of war, the headquarters of the Ambulance Corps had undergone many migrations and moved to Tuyun Pass, Guiyang in February 1939.

From 1939 to 1945, the Chinese Red Cross Ambulance Corps was stationed in Tuyun Pass in Guiyang to carry out field rescue work, performing nearly 200,000 surgeries, more than 35,000 fracture reduction, more than 2 million hospitalized treatment, more than 4.5 million outpatients, and more than 4.6 million vaccinations.

Guiyang Tuyunguan Anti-Japanese War Memorial Park
Now, the Guiyang Tuyunguan Anti-Japanese War Memorial Park of the Chinese Red Cross Rescue Corps has become an important foreign exchange platform for the Chinese Red Cross and Guizhou Province, and is also an important base for patriotic education. According to statistics, as of July 2025, the number of visitors to the memorial park has exceeded 370,000.
In August 2025, the State Council announced the fourth batch of 34 national-level anti-Japanese war memorial facilities and sites, and the Guiyang Tuyunguan Anti-Japanese War Memorial Park of the Chinese Red Cross Rescue Corps was selected.
