According to Xu Dachun, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Director of the China Geological Survey, mineral resources are an important material basis for economic and social development. Since the 14th Five-Year Plan, the Ministry of Natural Resources, in conjunction with relevant departments, has organized and implemented a new round of strategic actions for mineral exploration breakthroughs, with a total investment of nearly 450 billion yuan, and has achieved a number of major mineral exploration breakthrough results.
In terms of bulk minerals, old resource bases have rejuvenated and new resource bases have risen one after another. In terms of old resource bases, the newly added reserves of Xiaoyi Bauxite Mine in Shanxi, Jiaodong Gold Mine in Shandong, Anben Iron Mine in Liaoning, Duobaoshan Copper Mine in Heilongjiang, Julong Copper Mine in Tibet, Duolong Copper Mine in Duolong Copper Mine in greatly extended the service life and age of these mines. At the same time, some new resource bases are also rising, such as the Zhenxiongfu Phosphate Mine in Yunnan, the deep brine potassium salt Mine in Qinghai, and especially the Dadonggou Gold Mine in Liaoning Province, which is expected to become another world-class gold mine in my country after the Jiaodong Gold Mine in Shandong.
