Hamas leaders survived Israeli attack on Qatar; the United States denies participation.
The Israeli military calls its attack on a residential area in the center of Doha, Qatar a "precision" attack.
The attack killed five Hamas members and a Qatari officer, but did not kill its negotiating delegation or any senior leadership personnel.
The following are the victims we know and the senior leaders who are targeted but seem to survive the attack:
Who is Khalil Haya?
The attack reportedly targeted senior Hamas figures, including Khalil Haya, the group's exiled leader of Gaza and main negotiator.
Hamas senior leader Ismail Hania in Tehran, Yehaya Singwar in Gaza and military commander Mohamed Daif's importance has risen last year. Singwar, who took over Gaza after Chania's death, was killed later in 2024.
Because of these losses, Haya is now one of the five leaders directing the Hamas leadership committee.
The leadership committee refers to the temporary five-person ruling committee established by the end of 2024 to manage the organization during the war.

Haya was born in the Gaza Strip in 1960 and has been a member of Hamas since its founding in 1987, but he is particularly important in diplomacy, mainly stationed in Qatar, which has become a major hub for Hamas to mediate with other countries such as Israel, Egypt and the United States.
Activities outside the Gaza Strip allow him to travel to neighboring countries to coordinate without the restrictions of the Israeli blockade. Haya also led a delegation of Hamas to mediate good offices with Israel in an attempt to promote a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Haya's family also suffered from Israel's attacks: In the 2014 war, an attack by Israel destroyed the house of his eldest son Osama, killing him, his wife and three children; and in the attack on Tuesday, his son Humam was also killed.
But he emphasized that any passing of life is a tragedy. "The blood of the leadership of this movement is like the blood of any Palestinian child," he told Al Jazeera.
Who else was considered targets in the attack? Who died in the attack?
Zhahir Jabalin is also believed to have been the target of Israeli attacks. He currently serves as the movement's chief financial officer.
As early as 1993, Israel arrested Jabalin and sentenced him to life imprisonment. He stayed in prison for nearly two decades until he was released in 2011 as part of the prisoner exchange.
After his release, Jabalin quickly promoted to Hamas' ranks. He became the head of the organization's finance bureau, managing and overseeing a huge investment and financing network. He is also currently leading Hamas' activities in the occupied West Bank area and is one of five members of the leadership committee.
The leaders who were assassinated during the Israeli attack on Qatar include:
According to Qatar, the sixth victim was Corporal Badir Saad Mohamed Humadi Dosari, a member of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).
Who is the current leader of Hamas?
Since Israel launched a war on Gaza in October 2023, many Hamas leaders have been killed. To this end, the organization has formed a five-person leadership committee, including Haya and Jabalin, and has a senior military figure in the Gaza Strip.
Iz Ding Hadard
After Singwar's death, Haddad became the highest-level military leader in Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Israel considers him one of the masterminds behind the "October 7" incident and put him on the wanted list. He is not a member of the five-member leadership committee.
Khalid Mashar
Khalid Mashar, 68, has served as a senior political leader in Hamas, the Palestinian resistance organization since the 1990s. He was famous for Israeli agents trying to inject a chronic lethal chemical into his ear on the streets of Jordan, but the injection failed and the injector was quickly arrested. He is currently stationed in Qatar and serves as a member of the leadership committee.
"In fact, on the rest of the land in Palestine, there will be an entity or state called Israel," Mashar once said, "but I will not acknowledge or acknowledge it."

Mohamed Darvish
He is also based in Qatar and is the nominal head of the Hamas Leadership Committee. He reportedly met with Turkish President Erdogan in early 2025 and publicly supported the idea of establishing a technocratic government or national unity government in the post-war Gaza region.
Nizar Avadara
Avadala is a long-time leader of Hamas. He is regarded as one of the founding members of Hamas and has held several important positions, including its armed faction. He has not spoken publicly or appeared in the media since the October 07 attack.
