On the evening of September 10, the third "Bay Area Innovation Corridor" basketball league in Guangming District opened at the Honghuashan Sports Center.
It is reported that under the guidance of the Organization Department of Guangming District Party Committee and the District Culture, Radio, Film, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, the event is jointly sponsored by Guangming District High-level Talent Service Center and Guangming Investment Control Group and hosted by Guangming Culture and Tourism. It aims to promote talent exchange through sports and stimulate innovation momentum through competition. As one of Guangming Science City’s annual key cultural and sports activities, the league is an important display window for regional talent policies and innovation environment.
The league attracts 25 elite teams and more than 300 athletes from Shenzhen Guangming, Nanshan, Bao'an and Dongguan Songshan Lake and other regions to compete in the same field, covering many units such as government agencies, scientific research institutions, universities, medical institutions and key enterprises. On the night of the opening game, there were many strong duels. The offense and defense rhythm at the scene of the game was fast and the confrontation was fierce, which was fascinating.
The league is divided into two stages. In the group stage, 25 teams were divided into 8 groups to compete in a single round-robin competition, and the top two in each group advanced to the top 16; in the knockout stage, the top 16 adopts a cross-elimination system, and the champion, runner-up and third place were finally decided. The schedule lasts from September 10 to September 19 (except weekends), and includes a total of 43 high-level matchups. The league is open to the public throughout the whole process, and audiences can make reservations to watch the game for free, and the event organizing committee will broadcast live through the online platform.
Outside the arena, the event organizing committee simultaneously created the theme park of "Basketball Carnival" and "Trendy Car Show", inviting new energy vehicle companies to participate in the demonstration of the concept of intelligent technology and low-carbon, deeply integrate sports, technology and trendy culture, and bring rich immersive interactive experience to citizens. The carefully created fun market is also very popular, attracting many citizens to come and check in and experience it.
