The Chinese Embassy in the UK said in a statement that China has made solemn representations to the UK regarding the sanctions imposed by the UK on several Chinese companies.
The Chinese Embassy in the UK said that on September 12, the British authorities announced sanctions on legal persons and individuals in multiple countries, including three Chinese companies, on the grounds that these companies were suspected of "providing key items to the Russian army."
The statement said: "The British side's sanctions are unilateral acts without international law, which harm the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies. China firmly opposes this and has made solemn representations to the British side."
The Chinese Embassy in the UK stressed that on the issue of the Ukrainian crisis, China has been committed to persuading peace and promoting talks.
The statement stated: "We have never provided deadly weapons to the conflicting parties and strictly controlled the export of dual-use military and civilian items. The normal exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be disturbed or affected."
The Chinese Embassy urges the British side to correct its mistakes and immediately lift sanctions on relevant Chinese entities. The statement said: "China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises."
