Recently, market research agency CounterPoint Research announced the ranking of the world's top 10 best-selling mobile phones in the second quarter of 2025. This list is the same as Q1, with Apple occupying five seats, Samsung occupying four seats, and Xiaomi also has a model on the list.
First of all, the first three are still from the iPhone 16 series. Among them, the standard iPhone 16 topped the list with a market share of 4%, and its sales far exceeded the second and third.

The second and third, that is, the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro, these two phones have relatively close global market share in the second quarter of this year.
To be honest, this result is a bit surprising, because in the domestic market, the iPhone 16 Pro series is obviously more popular than the standard version. Especially during the 618 period, the 128GB version of iPhone 16 Pro went directly to the top in China after taking the national supplement.
I thought this would help it reach the top in Q2, but it still failed to surpass the standard version. It seems that overseas, the basic iPhone is still the main force in volume.

In addition, Apple has two models on the list, namely the iPhone 16e, ranking sixth; the standard version of the iPhone 15, ranking tenth. Among them, the iPhone 16e is a new phone released in the first half of this year. The phone performed very mediocrely in China, but it is very popular overseas.
According to third-party data, the global cumulative sales of iPhone 16e reached 7.15 million units in the five months of its launch, exceeding the cumulative sales of 16 Plus in the five months.
Through this data, we can understand why Apple has cut off the Plus model this year.

Which on Samsung is the fourth place, the Galaxy A16 5G is the fifth place, and the Galaxy A16 4G is the seventh place.
These three models are all entry-level positioning, with super-long software updates as the core selling point, and are mainly aimed at overseas markets.
There is also a Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is the only Android flagship on this list, ranking eighth. The S25 Ultra should be considered the super-large cup that Samsung has changed the most in recent years. The body has returned to the rounded corner design, the S-Pen function has been downgraded, and the original Note attribute has been downplayed.

Lastly, on Xiaomi, the model on the list is Redmi 14C 4G, ranking ninth. This is also a beginner, and is very popular in emerging markets such as Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
In fact, the Redmi 14C domestic version is also very good. It uses a 6.88-inch 120Hz LCD large screen, equipped with MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra processor, a built-in 5160mAh battery, and a drop-resistant body design. It only costs about 400 yuan after national replenishment.
