As the earliest anti-Japanese base and liberated area in the Taihang Mountains, the glorious years left a rich red cultural resource for Licheng. According to statistics, there are 521 red relics in Licheng County, which are known as the "Anti-Japanese War Museum without Walls". The Huangyadong Revolutionary Memorial site is located in Huangyadong Town, Licheng County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province.

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, this was once the largest armed forces base behind enemy lines in North China. The earliest and largest arsenal was created by the Eighth Route Army and was born here and is known as the "Cradle of the People's Army Industry".

In the scenic area, Huangya Cave (material warehouse), arsenal site group, martyrs' cemetery, bunker group and other sites are everywhere. It is known as the "Anti-Japanese War Museum without Walls", integrating the magnificent scenery of Taihang, the geological wonders of Zhangshiyan, the red military culture, and the historical sites of the Anti-Japanese War.
