On the afternoon of September 8, Wuxi's "National Popular Science Month" home event and "High Energy Science Show" exhibition were held at the Municipal Youth Palace.

The newly revised "Science and Technology Popularization Law of the People's Republic of China" clearly states that popular science is an important part of the national innovation system and a basic work for achieving innovative development. Fang Shengxi, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Association for Science and Technology, proposed in response to Wuxi's popular science work: "We must improve our political stance and fulfill our popular science mission; we must serve the overall situation of the center and help scientific and technological innovation; we must pay attention to coordination and linkage to form a working synergy." Wuxi's profound fertile ground in the Internet of Things, integrated circuits, and biopharmaceutical industries provides an excellent cultivation environment for the "Talent Program for Middle School Students". In 2025, Wuxi City was selected into the higher-level science and technology association plan to reach 22, setting a new high in recent years, ranking second in the province. The "Xi Xiaopu takes you to study and study tour" Wuxi's new quality productivity research route paves the way for young people to practice and innovation. 7 lines connect 26 core points including Jiangyin Science and Technology Museum, Yixing Science and Technology Museum, Liangxi Beidou Space, etc., to stimulate interest through interesting interaction, deeply integrate "production, education, research and application", and inject new impetus into the overall scientific education.
Promoting the spirit of scientists requires innovative expression. Wuxi's two repertoire selected for the promotion of the stage play of scientists in Jiangsu Province - "Struggler" and "Family and Country Situation·Youth Chronicle", were adapted into a recitation program "The Light Chaser" and appeared at home, paying tribute to the technological monument of "two bombs and one satellite" to "the ocean" with dialogues across time and space.
The "Science Popularization Jiangsu Academicians and Experts Grassroots Tour" activity was launched at the same time, focusing on the emerging and future industrial layout of Wuxi City, and organizing academicians and experts to go deep into scientific research institutions, industrial parks, schools and communities, and conducting new technology discussions and practical research for key groups such as young people, the elderly, and transforming scientific and technological volunteer services into tactile and sensible people's livelihood warmth.
Strikingly, the "Future" deep sea green intelligent technology test ship built by the Taihu Laboratory of Deep Sea Technology and Science and its Lianyungang Center will be open to the public soon. This "hexagonal warrior" equipped with a domestic intelligent information system for the first time can support the scientific expedition of 10-ton submersibles, transforming into a "mobile science museum", making the cutting-edge of deep diving technology truly feelable.
The finale of "High Energy Science Show" detonated the audience. The performance uses the main story to connect the "black technology" of physics and chemistry, from chemical explosion to AI interaction, creating a "mobile science classroom". During the "Mysterious Breath", the experimenter controlled the light and shadow of smoke to reveal the mystery of gas reactions. In combination with the 3D science fiction background and dynamic stage design, the audience seemed to be in a fantasy laboratory and felt the charm of science through the fun transmission of more than 10 knowledge points.
The event site also displayed the scientific and technological achievements of Wuxi being selected as the Provincial Science and Technology Museum of New Quality Productivity and Science and Technology Court.
This year, the "National Popular Science Day" was upgraded to the "National Popular Science Month" for the first time, and my country's popular science work entered a new stage of institutionalization, normalization and nationalization. During the "National Popular Science Month", Wuxi created a popular science feast in the whole region with the "1+8+N" model. More than 1,500 activities throughout September cover urban and rural areas. One after another, one brand event ignited enthusiasm, and precise services benefited key groups again and again.
