Kendrick Perkins tore Jonathan Kumingga in a recent salary farce with the Warriors.
Former Thunder center Perkins issued a harsh reality check on Kumingga during contract negotiations with the Warriors. Appearing on the NBA Today show, Perkins made no secret of telling him that he thought the Warriors’ views on the 24-year-old power forward. "I don't know if Jonathan Kumingga watches NBA Today, but they don't want you, dawg. They don't value you because if they value you won't go through it all. It started last season and Steve Cole showed you how he felt about you. " Perkins said.

Perkins analyzed how Cole excluded Kumingga from the rotation last season. The injury of Kumingga and the addition of Jimmy Butler caused such a situation where the 22-year-old couldn’t find a suitable roster after he recovered and returned. The Cole team tried Butler Green Cumingga's roster, but that resulted in the Warriors' net score of 24.9 in 38 minutes. "When you see this, if you bring him back for $7.9 million, it will cause turmoil in the locker room because he is going out to play personal basketball, it's hard for me to tell a person not to go out to get his number because I know he wants to get paid!" Perkins added.
Insider Brian Windhorst believes the standoff over the Kumingga contract may last for some time, as neither party has forced the work to be completed within two weeks. But the Warriors are indeed the only team in the league that still hasn't taken any action to fill the roster with experienced players. "I think at the end of the day, Jonathan Cumingga will join the Warriors. I think at the end of the day, Al Horford...D'Anthony Melton will appear in the Warriors,"Winderhorst announced.

He doesn't think Kumingga will leave there any time soon, Warriors fans have to wait for one thing. "The only question is, will he join the team as a filler until he can be traded in January, or will he become a real member of the team?"The NBA insider added. The Warriors reportedly took a two-year contract worth $45 million from Kumingga, and now his only option is to sign a one-year, $7.9 million qualified contract. The difference between these two huge funds will be left to anyone to wait and see.
The negotiations also prevent the Warriors from competing for some big-name free agents or available players, such as Malcolm Brogden, who showed interest. It is reported that due to Kumingga's situation, he did not even consider the team led by Stephen Curry. The Warriors are in a tough situation, but several insiders believe they will get out of this situation and strengthen the bench, which will ensure Curry gets the help he needs and gets him into the playoffs again.

But due to Kumingga's renewal problem, the Warriors have become the team that has not gained much in the free market this season. Over time, the solution to Kumingga's problem will bring a turning point for the Warriors.
