The 2025 Taiyuan Marathon will start on September 21. On September 10, the 2025 Taiyuan Marathon held a pre-match press conference at the Binhe Sports Center.
2025 Taima has been optimized and upgraded again based on the major adjustments to the track last year. The starting point will be adjusted from Taiyuan Railway Station to May Day Square, and the gathering of contestants will be more convenient, efficient, safe and smooth. The marathon and half marathon continue the classic track connecting Yingze Street to Binhe East and West Road. The marathon route cancels the "heartbreak detour" section of Xiangyun Bridge and the turn-back before the finish line, helping players maintain their running rhythm, give full play to their competitive level, and strive to create good results.
This year's event continues the starting mechanism of mixing and assemblies at the pace throughout the entire half of the race. There are 10 gathering areas in the whole half of the journey, 2 gathering areas for health and 1 gathering area for joy and 1 gathering area. The order was initiated in four shots, with each shot being 10 minutes apart.
As the World Athletics Federation Gold Mark Championship, Taima has attracted 56 elite athletes from home and abroad to participate in the competition. Among them, there are 10 gold-label athletes and 21 elite-label athletes.
In terms of transportation, in order to facilitate the travel of athletes, the first train of Metro Line 1 and Line 2 will depart at 5:30 am on the day of the competition and arrive at May Day Square Station and Dananmen Station near the starting point at 6 o'clock. After the race, all contestants will enjoy bus shuttle service: two bus lines at the end of the entire half of the journey. Route 1: Jinyang Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center-Changfeng Street Subway Station-Taiyuan Station, Route 2: Jinyang Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center-Changfeng Street Subway Station-Taiyuan South Station. The end connection routes for health and joy runs are: Shanxi Museum-Fuxi Street Subway Exit-Taiyuan Station. At the same time, a total of 230 inquiry volunteers were set up near the starting and end points to provide contestants with convenient inquiry services.
It is worth mentioning that this year, the completion medal will be added for the Happy Run and Health Run categories for the first time. Zodiac medals with different colors as marathons and half marathons will bring exclusive memories and unique warmth to all runners.
It is understood that 2025 Taima will be broadcast live on the entire process by the Sports Channel of China Central Radio and Television Station, showing the beautiful scenery of Taiyuan and the outstanding style of marathon athletes to audiences across the country and around the world.
