In autumn, the sky is blue and clouds are light, the clear water of the Liaohe River flows quietly, and the green vegetation on the shore complements each other, outlining a beautiful scenery. When you look up, you can see tens of thousands of herons stretching their wings, hovering and soaring in the sky, or lined up in neat rows, or scattered into agile formations; you can hear the chirping sounds of birds coming and going one after another, crisp and pleasant, as if telling your love for this land. Nowadays, "flying birds gather together, water and green blend" has become the norm in the Tai'an section of Liaohe River, and a vibrant ecological picture is slowly unfolding.
This ecological change stems from the continuous governance of Tai'an County for a long time. In recent years, the local government has always placed ecological protection in the Liaohe River Basin in an important position, anchored the goal of "smooth river, clear water, green banks and beautiful scenery", and promoted a series of precise measures: implement the project of returning farmland to wetlands, restore the former farmland into a wetland ecosystem, and build a "natural home" for aquatic organisms and birds; carry out river dredging work, organize professional teams to clean riverbed silt, salvage surface garbage, improve river water quality, and improve water body self-purification ability; promote coastal vegetation restoration, plant local plants such as weeping willows, reeds, and cattails, and build a multi-level green ecological barrier, which not only beautifies the shoreline, but also enhances soil and water conservation capabilities.

In order to maintain the governance results, Tai'an County has established a normalized patrol mechanism. A patrol team composed of staff and volunteers from Tai'an County Natural Resources Affairs Center and Water Conservancy Affairs Center patrols along the Liao River coastline every day to check for pollution hazards, stop ecological damage, and monitor water quality and animal and plant growth. It is this day after day that has made the Liaohe River water clearer and the shore greener, and built a solid "protective network" for the improvement of the ecology.

The ecological environment continues to improve, and the birds voted for recognition with their "wings". With its abundant water resources, sufficient food and a safe habitat, the Tai'an section of Liaohe has gradually become an "important station" for the migration of various birds and a "park" for daily habitat for foraging. According to joint observations by the county natural resources center, water conservancy center and wildlife bird (wetland) protection association, a variety of birds such as cattle egrets, herons, great egrets, medium egrets, and egrets have been recorded in the Liaohe Reserve alone, with a population of thousands. In the early morning or evening, flocks of birds fly over the river and reeds shuttle through the river. The moving scene of "birds fly in the Liao River" is not only a common sight in the eyes of residents, but also an intuitive portrayal of the local ecology.

Ecological protection has no end. In the next step, Tai'an County will continue to deepen the ecological governance and protection of the Liaohe River Basin. On the one hand, it will strengthen river pipeline protection, wetland restoration and vegetation maintenance, and optimize the habitat of birds; on the other hand, it will carry out ecological protection publicity and education to guide more people to participate and jointly protect the green waters and green mountains. I believe that with the continuous efforts, the ecological background of the Tai'an section of Liaohe River will become more and more intense, and the picture of "flying birds accompanying Liaohe River" will also become more lively and vivid.
